Numerous measurements to perform, complex to define... , the Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) is intrinsically more and more challenging to measure. Measuring a wireless device such as a smartphone or IoT requires first to master the SAR testing equipment as well as many parameters including the device under test itself.

To address the customer needs for SAR measurement, ART-Fi© proposes unique options to enhance measurement automation making the process faster and safer.

The Automation features include dedicated functions for precise device positioning providing a high level of accuracy and repeatability leading to high fidelity measurement. With the Base Station remote control feature,  the main base station manufacturers are remotely controlled with SARLAB© offering a high level of automation.
The Auto positioning feature allows to put the device under test on ideal position as described in international standards procedures to reach an unmatched accuracy level.
Combined with ART-Fi's unique D-PHASE© technology, tedious measurement such as 5G nSA multiple emission is fully automated. It includes intelligent device repositioning optimizing the accuracy of the SAR measurement.

Base station remote control

SARLAB© automatically handles the communication between the device under test (DUT) and the base station simulator. The test plan squences are optimized for measurement time reduction. The following base stations manufacturers are supported including Anritsu®, Keysight®, Rohde & Schwarz®.


Normative device positioning

With SARBORG©, the Auto positioning feature allows a perfect device positioning based on international standard, achieved on body phantom at any distance : from 0mm (fulfilling then future international standards requirement), as well as on left and right head, including the challenging position such as tilt and touch.

Adding the Base station remote control feature, it allows fast but accurate automated SAR test sequences. Such solution requests a limited manpower, and make customized test plan very easy.


Normative auto repositioning

An additional feature automatically positions the device to fit the most accurate position on which the SAR is at its maximum.

This unique option (requesting the SARBORG© robot) provides a turn key solution for optimized device positioning on body phantom, enhancing the overall measurement accuracy.

The feature is particularly well suited for multicarrier emissions (5G nSA) where device antennas are distant.

In this case the device is automatically positioned for the first acquisition, repositioned for second scan, SARLAB© recombining both contributions in one single imaging.


Custom report generator

SARLAB© generates real-time measurement report. Several formats are supported including Microsoft WORD® or EXCEL®. The WORD® document includes all the detailed information about the measurement set-up and results including 3D views and is customizable to fit all purposes. The EXCEL® sheet includes less information and is designed to quickly and easily compare measurement results. Both formats can be customized including or not dedicated measurement parameters for time saving operation.
