To avoid mismeasurements and uncertainties, the measurement process and the DUT have to be strictly monitored. For solving those issues, SARLAB© includes unique features for a high level of quality control.

Based on D-PHASE© technology, SARLAB© is able to monitor and genuinely scale up information used for SAR computation. There’s then no better way to capture properly the signal acquired by the system.

SARLAB© is also natively able to distinguish which frequency emission is used, its signal bandwidth, the duty cycle as well as many key information thanks to the time and spectral analyzer natively embedded in the ART-MAN© system (RF-VMBS).

Dedicated additional options to setup compliance are included, such as the Device position warning feature which instantaneously alerts the operator from any bad positioning of the device on the body phantom.

The D-PHASE© technology provides further opportunities to extend the monitoring functions to address then the customer requirements.

Device' signal monitoring
(Oscilloscope & spectrum views)

Thanks to the D-PHASE© technology, the straightforward application of the native RF vector signal analysis allows to monitor and to record signal signature during measurement. Time Division Duplex signal are easily controlled thanks to the oscilloscope viewer, escalating the signal time response emitted by the device under test (DUT).
Real-time spectrum monitoring is bringing signal spectrum so compliance of the device's emission is controlled. Frequency, modulation pattern as well as spectrum details are then available allowing to ensure that the device remains in the expected test configuration.

Device's power monitoring

SARLAB© is embedding power monitoring function for multiple applications. This function allows to check the device power emission stability. Dedicated algorithm for sensor selection allows the optimization of the device emitted power monitoring.
From a quality control perspective, this function monitors the power drift of the device radiation due to battery discharge during test and the instability of the device's radiofrequency amplifier. Device' power monitoring prevents from measurement error due to non intended  power emission during the test.

Moreover this function allows to check the antenna switching behaviour and also the state of the adaptative power settings. For antenna designers, the Device power monitoring feature is helpful for observing the coupling effects and interactions with the device.

Device's position warning

Based to unique D-PHASE© technology, device position warning is a dedicated “position sanity check” represented by a flag. The flag warns the operator from any bad device positioning on head or body phantom. This feature is particularly useful to identify the antenna radiation location for reducing the measurement uncertainty.
