Complex smartphones technology assessment

SARBORG® combines technologies including hardware and software.

SARBORG® is composed with an high-speed 6 axis of motion arm robot able to handle a wide range of smartphones as well as prototypes. After positioning the device in the innovative smartphone dock, all measurements are automatically carried out.

The solution automates the time consuming manual operations.

It includes the smartphone positionings, quality checkings (process and DUT) and device repositionings. For example, the six faces of a smartphone can be autonomously tested in one click.

The robot is completed by the vacuum technology and an electrically neutral venturi holder to improve the SAR measurement precision.

This technical innovation eliminates historical manual positioner interferences which impact the normative and advanced SAR measurements accuracy (uncertainty budget). 

Piloted by SARLAB®, SARBORG® automates and autonomously performs any test plan from one to thousand measurements making the SAR measurement process faster and simpler.

The measurement auto check capacity offers a higher security level for process and DUT monitoring.

This is why SARBORG® is particularly recommended for complex SAR measurement positions (head, tilt touch... ). 

SARBORG® also secures the SAR measurement process by ensuring a higher security level than manual operations for quality control monitoring (process and smartphone).

SARBORG® is recommended to measure the SAR of recent smartphones embedding more and more complex technologies (5G, MIMO...).

Automated 6 axis arm robot

SARBORG® automatically positions the smartphone on ART-MAN® phantoms according to the defined test plan. Once the SAR measurement done, the arm robot automatically repositions the device for the next measurement in a few seconds versus few minutes for manual handling. 

Vacuum precision technology

SARBORG® robot arm vacuum generating circuit is a highly serviceable industrial vacuum pump paired with a control system. The venturi holder is designed with a specific plastic material (Siton®) to limit the electromagnetic waves interferences.

Plug & play smartphone dock

The innovative dock allows to position once for all the smartphone during the test sequence. SARBORG® automatically picks and handles the smartphone from the dock at the begining of a sequence and replace it at the end. The six faces of a mobile phone as well as thousands tests can be performed in one click.

Enhanced software and exclusive features

The arm robot is easy to manage with SARLAB® advanced interface. SARBORG® improves the measurement precision and the quality of the Native & Quality Control features of ART-MAN®It allows to access to exclusive Automation features including smartphone positionings and repositionings. SARBORG® enables new Advanced features for recent smartphones embedded technologies (proximity sensors, multiple emissions, 5G, ...).

Automated test plans

SAR measurement tests are fully programmable from the SARLAB®. SARBORG® enables to automate, and autonomously performs any test plan including high numbers of tests (DUT positions, frequencies, modulations...).

AUTOMATION +

Normative device positioning

The SARBORG® solution allows a meticulous smartphone normative positioning. Perfect positioning is achieved on body phantom at any distance from 0mm (fulfilling then future IEC standard requirement) as well as on left and right head including challenging positions such as tilt and touch.

Linked with the Base Station automation feature, it allows fast and accurate automated sequence of SAR tests. Such solution reduces the manpower to its minimum and makes customized test plan very easy.

Normative auto repositioning

This unique option available with the SARBORG® solution providing a turn key solution. It optimizes a smartphone positioning enhancing the overall measurement accuracy.

The Normative Auto Repositioning is particularly well suited for multicarrier emission (in particular 5G nSA) where the smartphone antenna are distant. In this particular case the device is automatically positioned for the first acquisition, repositioned for second scan, the SARLAB® software recombining both contributions in one single imaging.

AUTOMATION +

Device' signal monitoring
(distance trigger identification)

Thanks to the D-PHASE® technology, the straightforward application of the native RF vector signal analysis allows to monitor and to record signal signature during measurement. Time Division Duplex signal are easily controlled thanks to the oscilloscope viewer, escalating the signal time response emitted by the device under test (DUT).
 
Real-time spectrum monitoring is bringing signal spectrum so compliance of the device's emission is controlled. Frequency, modulation pattern as well as spectrum details are then available allowing to ensure that the device remains in the expected test configuration.
